Idi Minnal Kadhal Movie Review: South cinema has made the farewell of March tremendous and explosive. On March 29, 10 films including a much-discussed web series ‘Inspector Rishi’ were released in Tamil. These films, which have come with full entertainment, have kept in mind the preferences of every class of audience. These Tamil films include Azhagi (drama), Hot Spot (drama), Epura (comedy drama), Veppam Kulir Mazhai (comedy drama), Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (action, science fiction-thriller… this film is also in Telugu), Boomer Uncle (drama), The Boys (comedy drama), Udaya Geethavin Azhahi (drama), Idi Minnal Kadhal (drama-thriller) and Netru Indha Neram (mystery-thriller).
If we talk about Telugu cinema, here too many films have been released on 29 March. These include- Market Mahalakshmi (Comedy, Drama, Family-Romance), Agrikos-Anaganaga Oka Raithu (Drama), Tillu Square (Action-Comedy, Romantic), Talakona (Crime-Drama), Bahumukham-Good, Bad and the Actor (Psychological, Suspense-Thriller), Kaliyugam Pattanmalo (Mystery-Thriller). At the same time, two films have been released in Kannada- Yuva (Action-Drama) and Tharini (Drama). Malayalam cinema is deserted this time. That is, no film is being released.
Let us talk about the Tamil drama-thriller ‘Idhi Minnal Kadhal’. This 2 hour 11 minute long film is directed by Balaji Madhavan. If we leave aside some shortcomings, then this film is worth watching once. There is novelty in the story, it entertains the audience and also gives a message.
The story begins with Aran (Sibi), who accidentally kills an innocent pedestrian named Hritesh in a hit and run accident. The deceased also has a young son who is waiting for his father to return. Aran wants to go to the police and confess his crime, but his girlfriend Janani (Bhavya Trikha) does not let him do so. Aran was about to go abroad, if he confessed the crime, then his dream of going abroad would remain unfulfilled. Janani tries to erase the evidence with the help of a mechanic Raja (Jagan).
Abhi does not know that after his father’s death he is going to get into a big trouble. His father has borrowed money from a money lender named Arul Pandian, a psychopath. Arul is a villain with pedophile tendencies. That is, he has a sexual attraction towards children. Abhi is helped by a sex worker (Anjali). Eventually Aran also confesses his crime and saves Abhi.

The film stars Sibi Bhuvanchandran, Bhavya Trikha, Yasmin Ponnappa and many others.
The story of the film presents complex human emotions associated with crime, suspense and guilt. The story is heart-wrenching.
The main cast of the film includes Sibi Bhuvanchandran, Bhavya Trikha, Yasmin Ponnappa, Radha Ravi, Balaji Sakthivel, Jagan Purushotham, Ajay Aditya, Vincent Nakul, Manoj Mullath etc. As far as the performance of the actors is concerned, everyone has acted well. Jai Aditya impresses in the role of Abhi. However, at times, his innocence seems to be lost. Yasmin looks good in the role of a sex worker.
The story of the film has been written by Balaji himself. The story seemed confusing at some places, but the rest is better. The producer of the film is Jaichander Pinnamaneni. He has done the cinematography. He has done his job well. Sam CS’s music also leaves an impact. Anthony Gonsalves’ editing and T Balasubramaniam’s production design are also fine. At some places, flaws were seen in the editing.
In-depth work has also been done on the locations of the film. Recently, actress Bhavya Trikha revealed that some special scenes were to be shot near the war memorial in Chennai at midnight, but due to technical problems, the shooting took a lot of time.
The success of any film also depends on how much effort was put into its pre-production. Balaji Madhavan worked hard in this direction and focused on it. A workshop was held before starting the shooting. In this, small scenes were explained in detail. The advantage of this was that the crew and actors did not have any difficulty in creating scenes on the set, they did not have to think much.
The fight sequences of the film are fine. Since the story is complex, the director has not been able to tie the scenes together at many places. In short, the complexity of the story distracts the audience. The director has tried to weave a hyperlink narrative. The beginning is fine, but as the story progresses, the characters start opening up on screen, the grip starts loosening. More work should have been done on the dialogues. An attempt has been made to create light-hearted fun in between through comedy, although it did not seem that effective. It can be said that the story of the film is new, it is good, but it could not be brought on screen properly. But it can be watched once.
