There is something special about Sanjay Leela Bhansali, because he thinks a lot before making any project. There is no limit to his ideas and capabilities regarding films, his thinking is quite different from other film makers. He knows what the audience wants in theatres and what they don’t and he must have done a lot of research for OTT users as well, only then he made his first web series ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’, which became a hit on OTT on May 1 with its release and the magic of this series will be seen among the people for the next several days or months.

When it comes to Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the first thing that comes to mind is the set, because we all know that Bhansali gives a lot of importance to the set in his films and the same thing was seen in his first web series ‘Heeramandi’. As it was being said that Bhansali was thinking of making a film on ‘Heeramandi’ and not a web series, but if that had happened then perhaps we would have missed a lot in it, because films can be made for 3 hours. Bhansali’s decision to make a web series on ‘Heeramandi’ seems to be proving right somewhere.

‘Heeramandi’ is a much bigger web series than others, even though it has only 8 episodes, their duration is quite long, some episodes are of 1 hour and some of them are of 45 minutes. This time Bhansali has brought along many beautiful beauties of Bollywood along with the beautiful set. Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Sehgal, Richa Chadha, Taha Shah, Jason Shah, Fardeen Khan, Adhyayan Suman and Shekhar Suman are seen in the lead roles in this series.

The story of this series is from before the independence of the country, when Pakistan was not formed and slogans of India’s independence were being raised loudly on the streets of Lahore. There is a place in Lahore named Hiramandi, which is known as the red light area. This series sheds light on the lives of the courtesans there. Along with their lives, the series also shows how they sacrificed themselves for India’s independence. At the same time, you will need to watch the first and second episodes very carefully, because Bhansali has shown the relationships between the courtesans in the series in such a way that you will have to spend some time in the beginning to understand them.

Manisha Koirala as Mallika Jaan, Aditi Rao Hydari as Bibhu Jaan and Sanjeeda Sheikh as Waheeda will win your heart. This is Sonakshi Sinha’s second web series, before this she had worked in ‘Dahaad’ in which she was in the role of a police officer and she looked very good in uniform. This time not only her character but also her attitude looked different. Bhansali has decorated Sonakshi’s character in such a way that you will become crazy about her acting.

Sonakshi is seen in two different characters in the series, her first character is named Rehana, who is Mallika Jaan’s elder sister, and her second character is named Faridan, who is Rehana’s daughter. The story of the series is based on Rehana and Mallika Jaan. There is no doubt that the story of the series is strong, but there are some weak parts in this series as well. If you sit to watch the series, you will feel that the story is going very slowly, due to which you will definitely feel a little bored. At the same time, the same type of sets will keep coming in front of your eyes again and again, due to which your eyes will also feel a little tired, while Bhansali himself has also given music in the series, so you can guess from this how strong the music will be in the series. Overall, this web series of Bhansali is a big gift for OTT users, which you will definitely like to watch once.
